In April 2020, the Yalta Forum was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The organizing committee of the forum decided to time it in 2021 to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Republic of Crimea as part of the Russian Federation (on October 18, 1921, the Autonomous Crimean SSR was created as part of the RSFSR). The Forum in 2021 was postponed from traditional April to early November.

Representatives of 79 countries took part in YIEF in 2019, and representatives from 96 countries were expected in 2021, the organizers said earlier. In total, 49 business events were planned at the forum, focused on five areas: the new infrastructure policy of Russia, the investment strategy of the regions, the Crimean development priorities, international partnership, technology and digitalization – the tools of success.

Forum in Yalta is an annual business event in the economic sphere held in Crimea. In 2019, the forum was held from 18 to 20 April, then the number of forum participants exceeded 4.5 thousand.
